Mission
The António Cupertino de Miranda Foundation is a private, not-for-profit institution whose aim is to provide educational and cultural activities that promote the knowledge society and contribute to social inclusion, at the same time as offering opportunities for leisure time activities.
Vision
The Foundation is a private, financially independent institution whose values are:
- Openness: it is an institution which strongly supports the community. Its purpose is to program for the economic, educational and cultural development.
- Sustainability: it creates relevant projects for the community.
- Social Entrepreneurship: it develops, funds and implements solutions to social and cultural issues.
- Knowledge: it is a knowledge center that brings together formal and non-formal education. It is a place which fosters participative and collaborative programs in order to promote social inclusion.
Aims
- To develop all kinds of strategies to promote the knowledge society.
- To contribute to the change of the teaching / learning process in view of the impact this will have on the economic development and social cohesion.
- To promote partnerships with the Universities in order to produce relevant programs for the community.
- To manage the Paper Money Museum.
- To analyze the evolution of the European cultural universe, with the purpose to define the cultural policy of the Foundation.
- To ensure the financial sustainability of the Foundation and the Museum.
