Stories by the metre
Using a chronological metre and some characters, we will recount the history of money in Portugal. The students will get to know some of the most emblematic characters in the world of paper money and their importance in national history.

Play, play… and learn to buy

A financial management programme for youngsters. The aim is to learn how to manage money in a healthy way. All the students will be given some capital to pay for certain activities. First contact with the value of money. Notions of security, trust, definition of financial objectives and priorities will be transmitted.

Heroes of the air
The theme is money and air transport. The aim is to get to know money through two Portuguese heroes: Gago Coutinho and Sacadura Cabral. Their historic and pioneering feat – the 1st flight from Lisbon to Rio de Janeiro – will be told using various banknotes. Come and find out what they took in their luggage and how they communicated during the trip. |
Heroes of the sea
The theme is money and sea transport. The aim is to get to know money through the feats of the Portuguese in the age of the discoveries. An amazing journey told through the 100 thousand Reis note of 1909, the 100 escudos of 1920 and 500 Escudos of 1922, which will tell us about the voyage of Pedro Álvares Cabral to Brazil and the discovery of the sea route to India by Vasco da Gama. |
